Data Engineer Intern

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·        Support business partners with data requests and analysis.

·        Work with stakeholders to analyze needs and design new data capabilities that support data-driven decision making.

·        Contribute to agile teams developing high-quality data solutions using modern architecture and tools.

·        Assist in designing strategies for data ingestion, movement, access, and visualization.

·        Optimize SQL queries and database performance.

·        Support development of certified data models and data sources, integrating both internal and external data.

·        Participate in building RESTful services and microservices.

·        Help develop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and CI/CD practices.

·        Assist in improving data tools, architecture, and processes.

·        Explore and propose new ways to leverage data to answer key business questions.

Qualifications

·        Familiarity with Power BI and data visualization concepts.

·        Understanding of SQL and basic performance tuning.

·        Exposure to data services, APIs, or data catalog tools.

·        Basic knowledge of Azure Data Analytics tools is a plus.

·        Experience with ETL tools or data workflows is a bonus.

·        Comfort with Excel and introductory programming in Python or R.

·        Strong interest in backend/frontend development concepts.

·        Collaborative team player with an eagerness to learn and contribute.

·        High attention to detail and a passion for solving business problems through data.

Education and Experience

Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Data Science, or a related field. Relevant coursework or projects in databases, data engineering, or analytics preferred.
